To cut a long story short, I'm trading it in for a 2010 C Max Titanium, & today was clearing the old car out. I must have accidentally pressed the "lock" button on the key & to my surprise the car
It is a 2001 Excursion limited V-10. All of the doors will lock fine, they do not lose strength or anything else like when the actuators are going bad. They just won't unlock. The drivers door will unlock when using the key fob or the door number pad. It will not unlock using either inside door switch. Remove the inner door skin and plastic. Reach inside and disconnect the link rod between the actuator and lock. Pry the actuator out of it's saddle.. no need to remove saddle from the door. Install new actuator and reinstall link rod.
