It's very simple, there are actually two belts, one from crank pulley to aircon and one from aircon to the alternator). To get to the alternator belt, jack up car and remove the undertray and OSF wheel and arch liner. Slacken off the aircon belt tensioner with a torx bit in the hole in the tensioner arm, from memory it is a T45 or T50 size.

I've owned my Mk2 focus for a year now and finally getting around to doing some little modifications to it.
